RaaSa awarded 2020 Bib Gourmand from Michelin Guide

In addition to being nominated for Westchester Magazine’s “Best of 2020,” Elmsford’s own RaaSa Fine Indian Cuisine was named to the list of Bib Gourmands in the 2020 Michelin Guide NYC edition.

Bib Gourmands are awarded to restaurants which offer a unique, remarkable yet affordable dining experience by offering a starter, main course, and dessert for roughly $40.

For the first time in its 15 years, the city guide included the unofficial sixth borough of New York, which Michelin Guide International Director Gwendal Poullenec, in an interview with Westchester Magazine[1], called a “natural move.”

The Michelin Guide, a renowned international reference and valuable asset to travelers for over 120 years, recognizes the “evolution of gastronomy and culinary talent in Westchester County,” Poullenec said, adding that judges were particularly impressed by the “mastery of cooking technique and the highest quality of ingredients, [which they] discovered during multiple visits to the area.”

Inspectors also took particular note of the harmony of flavors and consistency over time, both during the meal and throughout the year, as well as how the personality of the chef is expressed on the plate.

RaaSa Fine Indian Cuisine scored high marks in all categories, impressing inspectors with a “bright and expressive menu that meanders through the many regions of the Indian subcontinent.” [2]

From the daily specials to the desserts to the culinary background of Chef Peter Beck to the overall exceptional value, RaaSa is a real hit in Westchester County.

RaaSa is located at 145 E Main Street in Elmsford, New York. RaaSa is open 7 days a week, Monday through Saturday from 1130 am to 3 pm and 5 to 10 pm; Sunday noon to 3pm and 5 to 930 pm. Visit them on the web at https://www.raasany.com/.
